Description
【Itinerary】
1. Enter the Sacred Ring: Traditions & Titan Clashes (Duration: 60 mins)
Step into the heart of Ryogoku—the spiritual home of Sumo—and feel the floor tremble as you meet former professional wrestlers up close. The energy is palpable as you bypass the distance of a large stadium and enter an intimate space dedicated to Japan’s 1,500-year-old national sport.
・The Spectacle: Witness the raw power and agility of the wrestlers during a live demonstration. You will hear the thunderous sound of bodies colliding and the sharp slap of Harite strikes, while your bilingual MC decodes the hidden meanings behind the salt-tossing rituals and the shiko leg stomps that ward off evil spirits.
・The Challenge: This is your chance to step onto the clay dohyo. Under the guidance of the pros, you can try the sacred suri-ashi (sliding footwork) or—if you are brave enough—don a padded sumo suit to challenge a 160kg giant. It is a safe, hilarious, and unforgettable way to feel the strength of a wrestler firsthand!
2. The Power Meal: Authentic Chanko Nabe Lunch (Duration: 60 mins)
After working up an appetite and capturing the perfect photos with the wrestlers, settle down for the legendary meal that builds Sumo bodies. This is not just lunch; it is a deep dive into the dietary discipline of the athletes.
・The Taste: Savor a steaming bowl of Chanko Nabe, a protein-rich hotpot loaded with fresh vegetables and meat. Your host will explain the history of this dish and why it is essential for the wrestlers' physique.
・Dining with Ease: Unlike many traditional venues with fixed menus, everyone can enjoy our "soul food." If you contact us via message at least 48 hours in advance, we can prepare vegan, vegetarian, or allergy-friendly options. This ensures the whole family can dine together without a worry.
