Description
Join an English-speaking local guide for a 1-hour walk along the Meguro River in Nakameguro, one of Tokyo’s most popular cherry blossom spots. You will meet near Nakameguro Station and walk straight to the riverside, where cherry trees line both sides of the canal and create a tunnel of blossoms above the water.
During the sakura season the area becomes a festival space, with seasonal decorations and, on selected days, street stalls selling snacks and drinks. Your guide will explain typical hanami snacks and limited-time drinks, and suggest where you can try them before or after the tour if you like. You will also hear how Nakameguro changed from a quiet residential area into a trendy neighbourhood full of cafés, boutiques and bars.
As you stroll along the river, your guide points out the best bridges and viewpoints for photos and short videos. You can get simple tips on angles and timing so your phone or camera can capture the cherry blossoms at their best. The atmosphere is different in the afternoon and in the evening, so you can choose a start time that fits your travel plan.
The tour finishes back near Nakameguro Station. From there you can keep exploring the river on your own, visit a café or bar, or move on to your next stop in the city using your guide’s local recommendations.
